Philanthro Productions announced today that over $5,000 was raised for Planet Cancer, a non-profit support network for young adults diagnosed with Cancer, during their Urban Oasis fundraiser at the W Hotel September 12, 2009. The collaborative effort between Philanhtro Productions and TK Productions brought over 400 party-goers to the downtown San Diego hotel for the benefit of the cancer support network. Numerous individuals and local businesses donated services, products, and financial resources toward the successful event.

The funds raised at the Philanthro Productions event will contribute to the over $130,000 already donated to other charities and non-profits within the past two years among the three California chapters. September 2009 was the first month in which an event was held in each west coast cit; San Diego's Urban Oasis was promptly followed by the fundraising events held in Los Angeles and San Francisco just weeks after.

"The success of this event was really made possible by all of the people and sponsors involved. Creating awareness and raising funds for Planet Cancer was the primary goal of our event, but we also make it a point to try to create an opportunity for local businesses and individuals to contribute to the cause," said Richmond Pagaduan, Chief Marketing Officer for the San Diego chapter of Philanthro Productions. Featured entertainment included music provided by DJ Gino, DJ Kray-Z-K, and the Electronic Prophet, dance performances by Unity Hoops, body-painting and hair styling for guests by Lyte of ABA Designs and the stylists of Vickie Lavanty Salon in Solana Beach. Marketing and promotional services were also provided by the San Diego Entertainer, DTN Tech Marketing Solutions, and DiscoverSD.com.

The San Diego and San Francisco chapters of Philanthro Productions are each planning to produce another fundraising event before the year's end.
